Production and Release of Isoflavonoids by Lupin Cell Cultures
Cell cultures derived from white lupin (Lupinus albus) radicles consist o f a mixture o f friable cell aggregates and finely divided cells. Both types o f tissue accumulate two isoflavonoid aglucones, genistein and 2'-hydroxygenistein, their 7-O-glucosides, and their respective 6-, 8-, and 3'-monoprenyl-, as well as the 6,3'-diprenyl derivatives. M ost o f these metabolites are differen tially...
متن کاملProduction of Arbutin by Biotransformation of Hydroquinone Using Peganum harmala, Varthemia persica and Pycnocycla spinosa Cell Suspension Cultures
Cell cultures of Varthemia persica, Peganum harmala and Pycnocycla spinosa have been studied to evaluate their abilities to bioconvert exogenous hydroquinone. Arbutin is an important substance that has several pharmaceutical applications; therefore, we have established V. persica and P. spinosa cultures which seem to be able to metabolize hydroquinone. C...
متن کاملInterferon production in mixed lymphocyte cell cultures.
Mixed lymphocyte cultures from mice with marked differences in major and minor histocompatibility antigens were found to produce an inhibitor of viral replication with properties of interferon. Cultures produced maximal amounts of interferon at approximately 72 to 96 hr, a time when maximal stimulation of deoxyribonucleic acid synthesis also occurred.
